Steve Kershner added to Michigan Ski Hall of Fame

Steve Kershner of Bellaire was recently inducted into the Michigan Ski Hall of Fame in recognition of more than five decades of contributions to skiing and snowboarding in Michigan. Kershner spent much of his career at Shanty Creek Resort and served 30 years on the Michigan Snowsports Industries Association board.

BELLAIRE — Steve Kershner has always loved winter. His birthday is in December, and he said his mother could confirm that from early on, he always wanted to have snow on the ground for his birthday.

“It’s just about winter for me. I live up here for the winter,” said Kershner, “Summers are a bonus.”

That love for winter turned into a career surrounding the skiing and snowboarding industries in Michigan, for which Kershner was recently inducted into the Michigan Ski Hall of Fame.
