KALKASKA – Project Feed the Kids delivers an estimated 30,000 meals a year to a cooler in downtown Kalkaska that is open and accessible 24/7 for anyone who needs a meal. It has been serving the Kalkaska area since 2022.

“This program for Kalkaska County, it is like an absolute grand slam out there,” founder Tiffany McQueer said. “I could fill that cooler every day and it would be empty. The community definitely needed it.”

McQueer started the Kalkaska cooler with the goal of making sure no kid goes without food.

Those that feel they are in need of a meal are welcome to take food from the cooler. The coolers are open 24/7to anyone in need of extra help.
