Blazer Bash signals start of school year

KALKASKA – Hundreds of students and their families crowded onto the Kalkaska Middle School lawn on Thursday, Aug. 20 during Blazer Bash, the annual back to school event for Kalkaska Public Schools (KPS).

The event, which offers free food and activities, coincides with school building open houses. Before or after meeting their teachers and seeing their classrooms, depending on their open house schedule, students are invited to the middle school for the district-wide event.
