The Bellaire varsity volleyball team opened the season in impressive fashion at the Pellston Tournament, winning six of seven matches and tying one. The defending Ski Valley Conference and district champion Eagles won 13 consecutive sets after dropping their opening set and capped the day with a 25-11, 25-15 victory over Mancelona in the championship match.
Last week Bellaire High School head coach Kelli Fischer said that her girls, “were all ready to get at it, and showing up early to practice.” It looks like that extra practice paid off, as the Eagles dominated last week at the Pellston Tourney. Bellaire won six of their seven matches that they played and tied the other in route to an impressive showing.
Earlier this week, coach Fischer said, “we should have a solid team this year, we have some gaps to fill, after losing seniors Addy Patton and Abi Yuhuas to graduation.” Those gaps must have been filled admirably, as the Eagles dominated in the tourney.
