Kalkaska commissioners move to seek treasurer’s removal

KALKASKA — County commissioners are moving forward with their effort to present a formal complaint to Gov. Gretchen Whitmer to remove County Treasurer Valerie Tracey. At a July 23 special meeting, the board voted to have County Administrator Pat Whiteford work with commissioners and legal counsel to prepare documents needed to request Whitmer to remove Tracey under Michigan Election Law.
