Thurston Park improvements expand water access

CENTRAL LAKE — The Village of Central Lake and Paddle Antrim have completed the first phase of improvements at Thurston Park, adding new amenities designed to improve public access to Intermediate Lake and the Chain of Lakes Water Trail.

Located on the east side of Thurston Park along Intermediate Lake, the completed improvements include a universal kayak and canoe launch, accessible parking, an ADA-compliant pathway connecting the parking area to the launch, and a kayak storage rack. These enhancements make it easier for residents and visitors of all ages and abilities to experience one of Northern Michigan’s most treasured waterways.
