Marines to Muster

Area Marines will once again be celebrating the Marine Corps Birthday with a traditional military breakfast at G’s Restaurant in Kalkaska from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9. This will be the 249th Anniversary of the establishment of the Marine Corps and as always the senior Marine present will conduct the annual reading of the Marine Corps General Order #47. The Commandants Message will be presented along with a tribute to fallen Marines. The oldest and youngest Marines present will have the honor of cutting the cake. The event is open to all who enjoy the camaraderie of Veterans, especially Marines. There is no cost to attend the event, but any funds raised will be donated to the Annual Marine Corps Toys for Tots Campaign.
