Back to (after) school SEEDS continues filling after school gap at six local schools

Kalkaska Public Schools and Forest Area Community Schools districts, back to school also means back to SEEDS EcoSchool. SEEDS EcoSchool is a program of SEEDS Ecology and Education Centers, a Traverse City-based nonprofit. It provides after school and summer programs for free or reduced cost at every elementary and middle school in the two districts.

Enrollment in the program is up this fall, showing the increased demand for youth enrichment programs and after school care. According to America After 3 p.m., four in five parents nationally say that after school programs help them keep their jobs, boost productivity and reduce stress.
