CADILLAC – The Kalkaska softball team’s record-setting season finally came to an end with a 10-2 loss to Muskegon Oakridge at the MHSSA Division 2, Region No. 9 semifinals in Cadillac on Saturday.
KALKASKA – The Kalkaska softball team delighted Blazer fans by topping Ogemaw Heights, 5-4, in a thrilling nine-inning clash to win a Division 2 district tournament on Saturday.
ELK RAPIDS — Kalkaska junior runner Kyle McDowell set the school record in the 400-meter dash when he ran a time of 50.94 on Wednesday, May 24 at the Lake Michigan Conference Championships.
MANTON — Six individuals and a relay team from Bellaire punched their tickets to the Division 4 track and field state finals in two weeks after standout performances at the regional in Manton on Friday.
KALKASKA – OK, so Mother Nature could have been more cooperative. But, high winds and chilly temperatures couldn’t stop the 81st National Trout Festival from being one of the “best ever,” according to organizers.
TRAVERSE CITY – What started out as an exciting day for the Kalkaska softball team ended with a pair of losses at the Traverse City St. Francis Invitational on Saturday.
REGION – Whitney Wellman was incredibly involved with pageantry this past spring, but not as a contestant herself. She was busy supporting her two daughters and niece in the Miss Kalkaska pageant.
