ELK RAPIDS — With the boys basketball season winding down, and weather cancelled games still needed to be played, the Elks took to the road playing three games in three days.
MANCELONA — First place in the Ski Valley Conference was on the line when Pellston traveled to Mancelona for a high stakes boys basketball game on Tuesday night.
ELK RAPIDS — Playing in its first game in 10 days due to the whims of Mother Nature, Elk Rapids held visiting East Jordan to just 10 second-half points for a dominating 73 -33 Lake Michigan Conference win on Friday.
KALKASKA — The Elks’ boys basketball team headed into Kalkaska on Tuesday, Jan. 22 undefeated in the Lake Michigan Conference with a six-game winning streak, but the Blazers ended both runs with an 88-81 win.
MANCELONA — The Mancelona boys basketball team went on a revenge tour last week and was able to deliver paybacks from earlier losses this year in wins over Gaylord St. Mary and Johannesburg-Lewiston.
BELLAIRE — The Ellsworth boys basketball team had not defeated Bellaire since a 2010 district semifinal game, but the Lancers ended that 13-game drought on Friday with a 54-48 victory.
