Village warns residents about using online bill paying service
KALKASKA – More and more, people are using the Internet to do more and more.
However, officials with the Village of Kalkaska are urging local residents to avoid using at least one, third-party online option to make any payments to the village, such as water and sewer bills.
Scott Yost, village manager, said officials became aware of Doxo.com after a resident complained about interruption of their utility services, despite paying the village through the all-in-one bill paying service.
The individual was later instructed to file a report with the Kalkaska Department of Public Safety. And, Yost used the Kalkaska Village Council’s regular meeting Monday, June 26, to again issue a warning against using Doxo.com.
