Village officials say project nearing completion
KALKASKA – It’s done. Well, almost.
That was the announcement by village manager Scott Yost at the Kalkaska Village Council meeting held online on Monday, Dec. 14, regarding the nearly $3.5-million project to redevelop the 300 block area in downtown Kalkaska.
Dubbed “Railroad Square” by village officials, the project has included the construction of an event pavilion, with a commercial kitchen and capacity for 200 people, at its southern end, as well as a clock tower which will include electronic signage facing both north and southbound traffic along Cedar Street/US-131 to advertise local events.
