Village official receives honor from state association

KALKASKA — On a normal day, Kalkaska village clerk Angie Koon goes about her duties in a quiet way.

But, Koon’s efforts to serve her community recently caught the attention of the Michigan Association of Municipal Clerks, which named her “The 2020 Village Clerk of the Year.”

According to an announcement released by the MAMC, “Clerk Koon’s contributions to the profession are exemplary and her efforts have not gone unnoticed.

“The MAMC wants to thank Clerk Koon for her many years of service to her community and to the association,” the statement read.
