Village hosts groundbreaking ceremony for water, sewer project
KALKASKA – There’s nothing like a groundbreaking ceremony, with local officials making speeches and even getting out a shovel, to make a project seem official.
And, Kalkaska village officials, along with other local, state and federal representatives, marked the start of a more than $4-million project to replace and upgrade thousands of linear feet of underground pipes during festivities in downtown Kalkaska on Wednesday, May 10.
“This is a much needed project for the Village of Kalkaska,” said Scott Yost, village manager.
