Trojans pick up two league wins over Mancelona
MANCELONA — Central Lake picked up two baseball wins from Mancelona on Monday, sweeping the Ironmen 7-1 and 9-4.
Grant Papineau was the winning pitcher in game one, striking out six and allowing two hits. Bret Dewey had two hits, Skyler Spangler slugged a double and brought in three runs, Garret Purdy had a hit and two RBIs, Matt Cary doubled and Brendan Slough singled.
Dewey struck out eight and allowed four hits while getting the win in game two. Offensively, Spangler had a double among three hits and drove in two runs. Cary and Kline each chipped in with two hits and an RBI, while Papineau and Logan Eckhardt each added a hit and drove in a run.
