A strong holiday business season

The slopes were full of downhill skiers on Christmas Day, when snow lovers like Brad and Nan Miller of Traverse City, above, were not only able to enjoy skiing with Santa, but enjoyed the slopes at no charge, a tradition the resort began a number of years ago. The resort, along with many retail businesses in the area, enjoyed a strong holiday business season, despite the erratic winter weather.
BELLAIRE — After the holiday business season, retailers in both Antrim and Kalkaska County took a deep breath and reviewed the success of the season last week.
Despite the erratic winter weather in December and over the holidays, Shanty Creek Resorts had good numbers of patrons enjoying the slopes and other amenities, according to Shanty Creek’s Chris Hale, Vice-President of Sales and Marketing.
