Stremlow steps down as Forest Area varsity volleyball coach

FIFE LAKE — With a solid group of players returning and a good staff of assistant coaches, Forest Area volleyball coach Ron Stremlow felt like the time was right time to put someone else in charge of the Warriors’ program.

So, after 30 years leading Forest Area, Stremlow has stepped down as the varsity head coach, handing the reins to assistant Lisa Nedow.

“I thought it would be a good time,” said Stremlow, who officially resigned in April. “I can help her get things going. I thought it’s a good time for me to slide out quietly. We’ve still got four of our starters back. You get a lot of coaches who leave when it’s sort of rough. I said, ‘We’ve still got starters back,’ and I told her I would her help out if she needs some help.”
