Site plan for new Kalkaska hotel approved

KALKASKA — During a relatively brief meeting in early July, the Village of Kalkaska's Planning Commission approved a site plan for a new hotel in the village. 

The hotel, a Holiday Inn Express, will be a 65-unit, three story building located at 702 N. Cedar Street in the village, the engineer for the project said.

"We'll be demolishing the hotel building presently on the property," said Northern Michigan Engineering's David Drews, who attended the July 1 meeting along with the property's owner, Amir Lodhi.
