Signing out? Still no ‘glampground’ in Pleasant Valley
EAST JORDAN – More than a year after a widespread promotional campaign there is still no evidence of construction beginning on a proposed “glampground" in the area of Echo Township known as Pleasant Valley.
A sign announcing that the camping resort – to be called "Bella Solviva," meaning "beautiful hope" in Swedish, according to developers Brad and Sandy Carlson of Alden – would be "coming soon," was placed on a 229-acre piece of undeveloped land on Skinkle Road just south of Old State Road in May 2016, shortly after a press release on the proposed development caught the attention of media throughout the Midwest.
