Second effort: FACS places defeated bond proposal back on November ballot

FIFE LAKE – The Forest Area Community Schools Board of Education is going with the mantra of “if at first you don’t succeed, try, try again,” after a bond proposal was defeated by district voters earlier this month.

Board members discussed whether to put the proposed bond request, which would help fund various facility upgrades and renovations, on the ballot a second time during a special meeting Wednesday, May 17.

“November is our tentative plan,” said FACS Superintendent Joshua Rothwell after the May 17 meeting. “The board does not have to pass a formal resolution to put our current plan on the ballot.”
