EAST JORDAN — With his high school athletic career coming to a close, Ellsworth’s Isaiah Romeyn is making sure he goes out with a bang.

Romeyn accounted for three first-place finishes, including two individual firsts, as he was the area’s top standout at Saturday’s Division 4 track and field regional.

Romeyn won the 800 (2:04.08) and the 1,600 (4:41.28), while joining Ethan Tornga, Caleb Godwin and Robbie Wise on the winning 3,200 relay team (8:33.46). Romeyn qualified for the state meet in all three events. He wasn’t the only member of Ellsworth’s team to qualify for the finals or win a regional. Josh Light took first in the 110 hurdles (15.92) to return to the state finals for the second year in a row. Light also added a third-place finish in the 300 hurdles (44.53).
