Reborn: ‘Coolest shoot on earth’ returns to Central Lake

The event, which drew 149 shooting enthusiasts from throughout the country, was emulated after the popular Second Chance Shoot, which was held in the same location for 24 years before ending in 1999.

CENTRAL LAKE – Like its sponsor, Armor Express, known as "body armor reborn," the shooting competition described by many as the "coolest pin shoot on earth" has been reborn after a successful inaugural event in Central Lake last week.

The original pin shoot, which gives both professional and amateur firearms enthusiasts an opportunity to pit their shooting skills against the best in the business, began in 1975 after Central Lake resident Richard Davis – inventor of soft body armor and the body armor manufacturing company known as Second Chance – attended a shooting competition in Nevada.
