Pellston takes boys hoops showdown with Mancelona

MANCELONA — First place in the Ski Valley Conference was on the line when Pellston traveled to Mancelona for a high stakes boys basketball game on Tuesday night.

The Hornets not only strengthened their grip on the top spot in the league, but they did it with authority in topping the Ironmen 83-61.

Pellston’s electric offense caught fire late in the first quarter and ran off 16 unanswered points, digging the Ironmen a hole they unsuccessfully couldn’t overcome the rest of the night.
