This week, in this neck of the woods, 700 stands as a milestone for greatness. Specifically, in the baseball coaching career of Kalkaska skipper Bill Vandergriff.

Vandergriff won his 700^th career game this past week in the opening game of a doubleheader against Kingsley. The 12-0 victory for the Blazers on Thursday put their head coach in rare company. He’s just the 14^th baseball coach in state history to reach 700 career wins.
