No big changes
KALKASKA — The annual organizational meeting for the Kalkaska County Board of Commissioner came and went without much fanfare on Thursday, Jan. 2, as commissioners selected who will lead the board in 2020.
District No. 3 Commissioner Kohn Fisher was unanimously selected by his fellow board members in a 6-0 vote last Thursday to serve a second consecutive year as the county board’s chairman. District No. 4 Commissioner James Sweet was absent.
Fisher, who was first appointed to the county board in 2012, was the only commissioner nominated for the chairman’s seat. That’s compared to last year, when Fisher and District No. 7 Patty Cox were nominated for the leadership position.
