Scheduled during Michigan's Free Winter Fishing Weekend, the ninth annual ice fishing tournament will be held on the waters of Antrim County's upper Chain of Lakes, with headquarters at Central Lake’s Thurston Park at the north end of Intermediate Lake.
Beginning at 7 a.m., anglers will be allowed to ice fish on the waters of any of the upper lakes, including Intermediate, Hanley, Benway, Wilson, Ellsworth, St. Clair, Six Mile, Scotts, or Beals Lake.
“This is a great community event with great community support for all.” said Maggie Maul, who helps organize the event with her husband Rob Tyler. There will be great door prizes such as golf packages, t-shirts, and fishing gear. Tyler noted it is important to be in line to have fish measured by 3 p.m. at Thurston Park.
