Musicians to offer tribute to fallen friend
REGION – Without a doubt, Bud Bechtold loved music, especially traditional jazz music. It flowed through his heart and veins, into his instrument and out among the welcoming ears of audiences across the globe.
But music wasn’t the only thing that Bud loved.
“He loved to fly, he loved Torch Lake, he loved Bellaire and he loved me – we were joined at the hip,” said Rose, his wife of 37 years.
“Besides being a gifted musician, Bud was a wonderful, brilliant man,” she stated. “And he always had three things going on at once. Grass never grew under his feet.”
Bechtold, 89, died unexpectedly July 11 from an inoperable brain tumor.
