Murray steps into athletic director role at Ellsworth
ELLSWORTH — There was a changing of the guard atop the Ellsworth Community Schools athletic department at the start of July as Stevie Murray stepped into the athletic director’s job following Brian Certa’s retirement.
Certa’s retirement, which came at the conclusion of the 2017-18 school year, allowed Murray to take on a new role in addition to her duties as an administrative assistant with the district, a job she has held since February of 2015.
“Our old AD, Brian Certa, was retiring at the end of last year so my superintendent (Aaron Gaffney) approached me and asked me if I wanted to take on the added responsibilities,” said Murray. “My first thought was ‘bring it on.’”
