MSP trooper, firefighters receive honors for saving woman from house fire
KALKASKA — Better late than never.
A trio of heroes were honored during a short ceremony Monday, Sept. 28, at Kalkaska Township Fire Department Station No. 7 nearly a year after saving a woman from a blaze at her home in the Village of Kalkaska.
Trooper Adam Whited of the Michigan State Police Houghton Lake Post and two Kalkaska Township firefighters — Lt. Kyle Jenkins and firefighter Kevin Jenkins — were the first to arrive at the structure fire on the 700 block of North Coral Street in Kalkaska on Oct. 2, 2019.
