More than 150 kids attend annual egg hunt at township park
KALKASKA – What might have looked like controlled chaos to some was yet another successful Children’s Easter Egg Hunt hosted by the Springfield Township Park and Recreation Area on Sunday, March 25.
According to Terri Sibole, one of the coordinators of the event, more than 150 children of all ages participated in the seventh annual event that included 8,000 plastic eggs filled with candy and prizes.
“There might have been more,” Sibole said. “It sure seemed like a lot (of people).”
While the sun was out, there was still a chill in the air as children divided into three different age groups and took their turn picking up the eggs. Afterwards, they packed in the pavilion for refreshments, as well as to collect their prizes.
