Mancelona wins Spaulding Tournament

CENTRAL LAKE — Mancelona went undefeated in four games, including a 2-1 win against host Central Lake in the championship game to capture the title of the Maris Spaulding Tournament on Saturday.

The Lady Ironmen knocked off Central Lake twice, and also posted wins over East Jordan and Bellaire to take the crown of the memorial softball invitational.

All of the championship game’s runs were scored in the first two innings as Mancelona got a run in the first on an RBI single from Caitlin Ancel and added another in the second when Allie Meeder came home on the second of two Central Lake errors. Central Lake got a home run from Finch Vanniman to get on the board in the second.
