BELLAIRE — Charles Murray had been married to his wife Kathy for just a couple of days in 1984 before his wedding ring slipped off his finger and landed in the water of Lake Bellaire.

That moment had become a well-known family story in the 37 years since it happened. Unfortunately, Charles Murray was never able to locate the ring before he passed in 2003. However, his family was able to recover the ring, after it was miraculously discovered this past weekend by the nephew and niece — 12-year-old John Munn and 9-year-old Amy Munn — of Charles and Kathy’s son, Dan.
