Leonard finds a spot with Olivet College

FIFE LAKE — Payton Leonard had a change of heart.

Leonard, Forest Area’s volleyball most valuable player this past season, was initially going to forego a potential collegiate volleyball career to focus on academics. But Leonard wasn’t ready to give up the game just yet and that proved to be Olivet’s gain as the Comets got a commitment from the Class D third team all-state pick. Leonard signed with the school during a ceremony on Monday.
