Lady Elks repeat as Mancelona Invitational winners

MANCELONA — The Lady Elks continued their success on the volleyball court, winning the Mancelona Invitational on Saturday and taking home the first-place hardware for the second straight season.

The Elks were 4-0-2 on the day, winning against Mancelona (25-22, 25-18), Boyne City (25-17, 25-13) and East Jordan (25-15, 26-24), and splitting with Manton (24-26, 25-18) and Boyne in a rematch (25-20, 20-25). Facing East Jordan in the semifinal game, the Elks hung on for the win (25-11, 12-25, 15-6) and rolled over Manton in the final game (25-9, 25-19) for the title.
