KPS officials report positive beginning to school year

KALKASKA - Despite the concerns of many over starting a new school year during an ongoing pandemic, officials at Kalkaska Public Schools are reporting a positive start for the 2020-21 school year.

Students returned to their classrooms on Tuesday, Sept. 1, for a three-day week before taking off for the recent Labor Day holiday weekend.

“The first week — three days last week — went incredibly well,” said KPS Superintedent Terry Starr. “Staff and students are doing an incredible job with wearing masks.
