KPS Director of Bands retiring after 23 years in Kalkaska

KALKASKA — The fire raged through the halls of Kalkaska Middle and High School for more than two decades.
Many hope the blaze will continue on when a new Blazer music leader is named.
Twenty-three years ago Craig Chissus became a Blazer and started to light the musical fire in Kalkaska. He is retiring June 10 after 30 years of public education service. He started his music teaching career in the thumb area of Michigan with Deckerville and Elkton-Pigeon-Bay Port schools.
