KALKASKA — The Kalkaska Department of Public Safety is literally making room for the future.

Work recently began on remodeling about 1,100 square feet of space at the Kalkaska Village Offices on Hyde Street to provide additional working space for the law enforcement agency, including a secure area for a LEIN computer terminal.

Scott Yost, KDPS director and village manager, said the project is also an effort to prepare the department for future growth.
