Kalkaska Housing Committee to undertake community survey
KALKASKA — During a brief, routine monthly meeting held at the Kalkaska Commission on Aging on Monday, Oct. 11, the Kalkaska Village Council approved Halloween trick-or-treating hours in the village, authorized a contribution worksheet for employee health insurance, and heard about a committee's plans for a community survey.
Reporting on the recent meeting of the Housing Development and Blight Renewal Committee, Kalkaska trustee D. Allen White told the Council that the committee discussed information offered by Yarrow Brown of Housing North, and discussed ways of solidifying pathways and forward actions, as well as the need for an informational community presentation and survey, which will be undertaken soon to determine employer/employee wishes, community ideas, and how to fit those ideas into the village's master plan.
White also reported on a recent meeting of the village's Public Works Committee, noting that the committee reviewed immediately needed road repairs that were reviewed in August.
Both committees will meet again on Nov. 4, 2021.
