Kalkaska Conservation District Tire Recycling & Household Hazardous Waste Collection
On Saturday, July 24 from 8 a.m. to noon the Kalkaska Conservation District will be holding a tire recycling collection at the Kalkaska County Recycle Center, 904 Island Lake Rd. The limit is 10 tires per household and is free of charge for Kalkaska County residents only. Proof of residency will be required. Tires will be accepted until semitrailers are full. Any tires after that are subject to regular disposal rates. Call the recycling center for what tires will be accepted and information at 231-384-1304. From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. the household hazardous waste collection will take place at Kalkaska Middle School, main entrance off W. Kalkaska St. First 50 pounds are free to Kalkaska residents until semitrailer is full. Proof of residency will be required.
