Kalkaska’s Guggemos finishes second at LMC meet

GRAYLING — Kalkaska sophomore Tyler Guggemos earned first team All-Lake Michigan Conference honors on Saturday when he finished second overall in the boys race at the league championship meet at Hansen Hills.
Guggemos recorded a time of 16:56, one second off the winning pace of 16:55 by Charlevoix sophomore Evan Solomon.
Solomon’s team ended up winning the team title as well, with the Rayders’ 45 points behind seven in front of Traverse City St. Francis. Kalkaska was fifth with 125 points, the Blazers best finish in the past five years. Elk Rapids scored 176 and took seventh.
