Kaliseum sees facility upgrades, membership growth, and anticipates future projects

KALKASKA — Through 2020 and 2021 the Kaliseum Recreation Complex in Kalkaska has seen several exciting expansions to the programs offered and improvements to the building itself.
In last year’s November election, voters approved the .25 mill millage renewal to support the facility’s operating costs.
“A lot of that money is to upkeep the building and we’re doing that,” said John Starr, the Executive Director of the Kaliseum. “We did a major compressor upgrade for the rink, so the ice runs correctly, we’ve done some lighting stuff, we’ve done some broiler work and we still have more things on our to-do list.”
