Joburg, Inland Lakes rule SVC track finals

BELLAIRE — One thing was made clear at Friday’s Ski Valley Conference track and field finals — the boys and girls teams from Johannesburg-Lewiston and Inland Lakes are head and shoulders above the rest of the league this season.

Joburg’s girls held off Inland Lakes’ girls for first (188.5-173), while the tables were turned on the boys side as Inland Lakes edged Joburg for top honors (177.33-174.33). The scoring dropped off significantly after the top two, with Bellaire’s girls finishing third with 72 points and Mancelona’s boys taking third with 82.5 points.
