Joburg boys, Inland Lakes girls win SVC cross country titles

MANCELONA — The Johannesburg-Lewiston boys and the Inland Lakes girls captured Ski Valley Conference cross country crowns as the winners of the Wednesday, Oct. 11 league meet.

The Cardinals scored 31 points to finish ahead of runner up Mancelona, which scored 50, on the boys side. Inland Lakes had a winning total of 38 to best Bellaire (59), Joburg (66) and Mancelona (90).

Joburg had the individual champions on both sides, with Carlos Gascho finishing first in 17:11 and Sydney Townsend taking top honors in 21:34.
