It’s almost fair time: Schedule includes old favorites, new options
KALKASKA – The Kalkaska County Fair’s schedule of events is jam-packed for fair week, July 25-29, at the fairgrounds.
This year features not one, but two nights of demolition derby events at the Grandstand Arena. “Motors and Mayhem” presents bump-n-run and classic figure 8 events on Friday, July 28 at 7:30 p.m., and again on Saturday, July 29 at 5 p.m.
The annual animal shows and livestock auctions will take place during the week. The Small Animal Show is set for Tuesday, July 25 at 5 p.m., and the Large Animal Show is Wednesday, July 26 at 4:30 p.m. The 4-H Showmanship Sweepstakes are on Thursday, July 27 at 2 p.m., followed by the 4-H Market Auction at 6 p.m.
Friday, July 28 is Kids’ Day, with activities including a visit from the GT Butterfly House and Bug Zoo, face painting, a Kids on the Block Puppet Show, and more from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The KIDDIE Carnival and Games are open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday.
There are also teen activities at the pavilion on Saturday, July 29 from 1-4 p.m. offering life-sized games, a team photo scavenger hunt and more.
