Ironmen cruise to first-place finish at Bulldog Invite

INDIAN RIVER — The Mancelona boys track team is earning some statewide recognition by being ranked sixth in the latest Division 3 poll and the Ironmen did nothing to tarnish that billing as it cruised to the title of the Inland Lakes Bulldog Invitational on Thursday.

The Ironmen scored 163.33 points, a comfortable margin ahead of runner up Johannesburg-Lewiston (133). Sault Ste. Marie was third with 103.33. Central Lake took ninth (15 points) and Bellaire was 10th (10).

Mancelona was dominant in the relays, winning all four races. It also had five other first-place finishes, including two from jumper Jayden Alfred.
