Hundreds flock to FL for annual ‘Best 4th In The North’

Members of the Forest Area High School Marching Band's flag corps show off their patriotic spirit while leading the band along the parade route on Tuesday, July 4, downtown Fife Lake. Organizers were thrilled with the attendance of this year's celebration, with thousands of festival-goers lining State Street for the parade, a highlight of the four-day community event.

FIFE LAKE – Almost every factor was in favor of another successful “Best 4th In The North” celebration Saturday through Tuesday, July 1-4, in Fife Lake.

The community on the border of Grand Traverse and Kalkaska counties sits on the edge of a picturesque lake. The local business community looks forward to showing it off for local residents and visitors. And, the festival committee had again put together a plethora of fun, family-oriented events.

All Fife Lake needed was nice weather. And, they got it, as hundreds of people poured into the lakeside village over the long holiday weekend, according to organizers.
