High Tea hoping to sell out

BELLAIRE — Hopes were high for a good attendance at the 17th annual High Tea in 2020.

With more women than ever, and a few men, suffering from breast cancer in Antrim County who were seeking the help of the High Tea for Breast Cancer Prevention and Awareness, a good attendance at the annual luncheon event held at Shanty Creek Resorts, with good, if not great, profits, was absolutely imperative. 

But the 17th Annual High Tea didn't happen at all in 2020, thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic. Which is why this year's event, re-scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 8, 2021, is so important to the organization's founder.

"The pandemic may have stopped just about everything in the past year, but it didn't stop breast cancer," said Bellaire's Dee Lynch, who held the first High Tea with co-founder Jane VanEtten in 2004. "We have lots of requests for patient assistance."
