Health officials announce first local ‘positive’ case of coronavirus

KALKASKA — It was an announcement that was bound to come, but now it’s official. The coronavirus has reached Kalkaska County.

Officials with District Health Department No. 10, which includes Kalkaska County, reported on Monday the first “confirmed positive case” of COVID-19 in a local resident.

The name and age of the individual was not included in the announcement. Though, health department officials added they were “working quickly” to investigate the case and determine who else might have been exposed to the virus.
