Fredrickson earns all-state honors with fourth-place finish

DETROIT — Mancelona’s Coleton Fredrickson was on the podium on Saturday at Ford Field in Detroit.

That meant the senior wrestler had finished among the top eight in the 103-pound class, earning all-state honors with a fourth-place finish at the Division 4 individual state finals.

Fredrickson, a three-time state qualifier, had his best showing of those three experiences, winning his first two matches and ending up 3-2 over the course of the weekend.

“It felt nice to get fourth,” said Fredrickson. “It was nice to finally get on the podium after three years going to states. My goal has always been to beat my brother, who got fifth, and that’s what I was shooting for, and it was nice to finally do that.”
