REGION — When you’re first game is in a little over two weeks you don’t want to waste any time.

So, the Bellaire football team took full advantage of Monday’s first practice by scheduling practice for the first moment it could be held — right at midnight.

The Eagles got the 2021 fall sports season started with a workout held under the lights, the first official preparation for the upcoming season, which begins for the Eagles on Aug. 27 at home against Bear Lake.

Girls golf and boys tennis have the earliest dates for games, with Aug. 16 being the first allowable date. Cross county, boys soccer and volleyball teams will follow just days later with an Aug. 18 start. Football, which can begin play as soon as Aug. 26, is the last to begin holding official games.
